In
recent shows, a number of our horses were hesitating or refusing
when it came to going over "stone jumps", particularly
when there was a "cut out" so the horse could see
through to the other side. Judi mentioned that the problem
was our horses weren't familiar with those type of jumps so they
were spooked when they approached them.

For
the Love of Horses

Fundraiser @ Golden Gate Fields
 The
Redwood Hills Pony Club held its 3rd "For the Love of Horses" fundraiser at Golden Gate Fields.
The day began watching brisk
morning workouts at the rail, and then moved on to tours of the
barns, with a peek at the new Equine Hospital. We congregated in the warm and elegant Turf Club, where
we enjoyed a
buffet lunch.
After that?… a fun-filled
afternoon of Thoroughbred horse racing, including a race named for
RHPC!
Rough schedule for
the day: Arrive between 9 and 10, talks begin at 11 or
11:30, lunch around noon, racing begins at 12:30,
stay as long as you'd like.
Save
the Wild Horses
In
1971, the Wild Free Roaming Horse & Burro Act was passed to
help preserve wild horses and  burros as part of our national
heritage. Now, an aggressive wild horse removal campaign is
currently under way by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
This new campaign is contrary to the spirit of that 1971 pact, and
undoubtedly will imperil thousands of wild horses.
